Bonfire Night reminder

4th November 2016

As bonfire night approaches, Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service would like to remind and warn local parents and young people of the dangers of fireworks.

Two students and one ex-student from the same school in the Tyne and Wear area have all sustained firework related injuries over the last few days.

Using fireworks in a public place is illegal, and carries an on the spot fine of £80.

Young people should be advised never to hold a lighted firework in the hand, or to throw fireworks.
